Select whether The Bat! should use IMAP4 or POP3. If you have VPOP3 Basic, then you must put POP3. If you have VPOP3 Enterprise, then we recommend you choose IMAP, but there may be situations where you want to use POP3 instead. If more than one computer/device will be accessing your email, then IMAP is strongly recommended so that your email is synchronised between devices.

In Server Address, enter the IP address or name of the computer running the VPOP3 software.

In Connection type, leave it as Regular (non-secure) unless you have installed an SSL certificate in VPOP3 Enterprise. If you have, then choose Secure to regular port (STARTTLS) if you have set the encryption type for the VPOP3 POP3/IMAP4 services to 'STLS' or 'STARTTLS' or Secure to dedicated port (TLS) if you have set the encryption type for the VPOP3 POP3/IMAP4 services to 'SSL'.

Usually you will leave Port at the default unless you have altered that in the relevant VPOP3 Service settings.

In User name, put your username as specified in the VPOP3 User settings. Note that this is just the username, not a full email address.

In Outgoing (SMTP) server address, enter the IP address or name of the computer running the VPOP3 software. This is the same as the Server Address on the previous page.

In Connection type, leave it as Regular (non-secure) unless you have installed an SSL certificate in VPOP3 Enterprise. If you have, then choose Secure to regular port (STARTTLS) if you have set the encryption type for the VPOP3 SMTP service to 'STARTTLS' or Secure to dedicated port (TLS) if you have set the encryption type for the VPOP3 SMTP service to 'SSL'.

Usually you will leave Port at the default unless you have altered that in the VPOP3 SMTP Service settings.

We recommend you check the My SMTP server requires authentication for sending mail box.
